When
teeth need small restorations because of a small cavity or other
damage, Dr. Smith uses a small amount of tooth-colored bonding;
however, if the damage is greater, a porcelain restoration is utilized.
The porcelain restorations are custom made in a dental laboratory and
then, permanently cemented into place to repair the damage. Metal
crowns and fillings expand and contract with temperature fluctuations
causing liquid to leak into the damaged area. A leak in a filling or
crown will cause further damage to the tooth and more pain in the long
run. For more information please schedule a complimentary consultation
with Dr. Smith.
